Just because you have a small space doesn’t mean you can’t live large in it. It’s definitely tricky designing a small space or room but there are ways to make the most out of your tiny headquarters.

There are little known ways to make the most out of your little abode. Only issue is, you don’t know most of them especially the most significant ways. To help you with your small space problem, here are some ideas and tips to help you design and not waste your valuable spaces:

  1. Take advantage of natural lighting

You may not know it yet but natural light is your most trusted friend when maximizing your petite abode. Let light enter your home and let it travel around to delight your mood. Do not block the sunlight, opt for a sheer curtain or woven blinds to filter its rays. You should thank the lord of light for bringing a more larger space illusion for your home.

  1. Spice it up with mirrors




Natural light’s best friend are mirrors. Let the light reflect on it and distribute the visuals of a maximized space by it. Also, placing mirrors on your walls is a smart way to open up and give the illusion of a doubled-up space. The reflection is tricky enough to appear you have bigger room.

  1. Make use of corners

Use. every. single. space. creatively. The awkward corners could be difficult to decorate but there are creative ways to make use of the tricky however extra space. You could use it as a book nook, could be a bookshelf or extra storage. You already have a small room, don’t let every inch of space left unused.

  1. Go white or other neutral palette

Create the illusion of a wide room by painting your walls white or any neutral colors. This trick is best finished with natural lighting or just good lighting. Also, add a splash of a bright/bold colored or patterned item such as pillows, chairs, paintings/art decorations and the likes.

  1. Be creative with storage

You don’t want to clutter your space with lots of things and leave them unorganized, do you? The solution for that is to declutter (obviously): either throw away things you no longer need or store them. You can create drawers or shelves below or on the side of your stairs or add storage boxes under your bed. Think of unconventional ways to store your things and work it.

Another solution to your storage problem is opting for a nice and functional room dividers rather than plain and dull ones. Not only will it make room shifting seamless, it’s a wise and useful space that doubles up as storage space. .
