# Make sure you prevent the spray from reaching plants and animals as it can harm them. To ensure a safe process, place th furniture on a driveway, patio or somewhere else, but just make sure it is an area that is far from plants.

# Next, proceed to applying the spray. Cover the seams well. You need to avoid moisture from collecting there.

# When you are done spraying the furniture, let it dry completely before you use it again. If during the time the furniture is let to dry it stars raining, make sure you store it indoors.

  • Before waterproofing, be sure to check if there are any rips on the fabric. You need to repair them if you want to apply the spray.
  • Read the labels on the waterproofing sprays and pay special attention to the warning signs. Even though some products are great to use on some fabrics, they should not be applied on other fabrics. If you don’t want to ruin your furniture, it is strongly recommended that you pay attention to this.
  • If you happen to waterproof your outdoor equipment during a windy day, you need to wear protective clothing and safety goggles. Otherwise you risk to get spray on your skin or in your eyes.
  • Most of the furniture fabrics allow using the same waterproofing formulas that are usually used on sailboat fabrics.
