Haven on Earth – In Your Bathroom

The design of each room in your home influences your mood and energy. This is why bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and every other rooms should be designed to feel comfortable and for you to enjoy spending time in them. Here are some ideas that will help you make your bathroom a true oasis of relaxation.

Bathroom renovations

I have lived in Sydney (and yes I did bathroom renovation) for two years, and during that time, I came up with an idea to remodel my bathroom. It was the smallest room in the apartment, and as such, it had to have the brightest color of walls possible, so I chose white. Not only did this color give my bathroom a nice touch, but white also made the room look more spacious than it actually was. If you are not that fond of white, I would suggest an olive green, as it would give the room the feeling of calming serenity. Even though my bathroom was tiny, I had to have a bathtub, especially for those days when I came from work completely exhausted and in a desperate need of a relaxing bubble bath. You might choose space over comfort, in which case a shower cubicle is the perfect choice for your bathroom. Every room requires a lot of sunlight; therefore install as many windows as you can. Curtains would go up to the half of the window, thus providing ample privacy while still allowing natural light.

The Decor

When it comes to decorating your little oasis, I would first suggest adding a pretty but also functional vanity. A shell-encrusted mirror will add tenderness to the shiny bath. The sink goes under the mirror, so you can add an open cabinet under and cover it with a classy curtain. Not only will it be useful, but it will also help you hide the plumbing.

Shelves are a necessity in a well-designed bath. Glass ones keep a small bathroom accessible and uncluttered. Custom ones, on the other hand, can add a decorative component to a bathroom that is otherwise simple. Properly folded towels in baskets are a terrific way to embellish open shelves.

If you have space, opt for a wall of cabinetry. Small closets can also come in handy, but when they are difficult to use think about removing the doors and decorating the shelves for stylish storage. The details help pull a room together. Consider apothecary jars for often-needed items, such as q-tips, cotton wool, or cotton wool pads. Do not forget a hamper, which is more convenient as a build-in, than standing out in the middle of the room.

Ladder floor storage with baskets will easily accommodate towels, magazines and other sundries. So think about incorporating this item into your bathroom design, if you do not like the idea of cabinetry.

Mats on the floor will bring your bathroom an extra warm and cozy look. Furthermore, an unused nightstand can fit perfectly near the bathtub. You can put makeup, hair tools, and toiletries inside it for a better organization. Artistic mosaic tiles are also a great idea if you need your bathroom to be unique and special.

Hopefully, you will be able to incorporate some of these, alongside your own ideas, into your bathroom decoration, and create a perfect relaxing retreat.
