Use Homemade Oil Diffuser Perfectly

Oil diffusers have become quite popular now as people are looking for the ideal smell for their homes. The essential oils are amazing in that they not only make a home or office smell the way you wish, but many of these oils have therapeutic effects that really add to the health of the people in the home or office. They have become so meaningful in a wide variety of ways.

It is the dispersal of these oils within a given space that is important to the overall effectiveness of the oils. These oils work by releasing the particles that are in the oil so that the smell of the essential oil is dispersed throughout the room. This makes it so that it smells just as you wish.

To accomplish this there are different diffusers that you can buy that help to speed up the dispersal process. Most work by warming the oils so that they spread through the air, giving you the desired smell in no time. These are highly effective for sure.

While you can opt for this choice, the truth is that you do not have to. You can made a homemade oil diffuser that can work just as well at no real cost to you. All it takes is a little more diligence on your part.

There are really two different options here, and their use depends more on the size of the room you are looking to improve. If you are talking about a small room or office then using a simple cotton ball will do the trick. All you need to do is to put a drop or two of the oil on the cotton ball and then put that in some kind of small container or tray. Let it sit on a desk, table, or counter top and in a matter of 10-15 minutes you will have the smell you are looking for.

All you need to do to maintain that smell is to use a new cotton ball every 6-8 hours. This will keep the room smelling as desired and just requires a little diligence on your part to ensure that you are replacing the cotton ball on a regular basis.

If you have a much larger room to work with this option is probably not going to do the trick for you. While it will work with a few feet of the cotton ball, the further you get away from it the less the effects will be. In an open area, like a living room or dining room, this will not work well.

That leaves the other homemade oil diffuser option – steam. Let’s face it, nothing has worked better than steam for thousands of years. This is nature’s No. 1 air dispersal system and can work quite well for you if, again, you are willing to be diligent. This is actually the ideal choice if you really need a rapid change in smell in an area.

All you do is boil 2-6 cups of water. Once the water is boiled, put it into a bowl and add two drops of the essential oil per cup of water. In no time you will find that the room has the odor you desire. This works for about 3-4 hours.
