Smarter Decorating Designs for Your Breakfast Nook

The atmosphere of a breakfast nook should be different from the formal, or semi-formal atmosphere you create in your dining room. A nook invites you to focus on comfort and coziness and the design style, color scheme, and textures you include can complement the whole house, while retaining a sense of individuality. If you are thinking about adding a nook or improving the one you have, here are some ideas to get you started.

Furniture
It’s important to select furniture that is compatible with the size of the nook. Choosing a simplistic style table gives you some creative freedom when accessorizing the space. The chairs you choose don’t have to be
identical in design. However, they should be comfortable. Many breakfast nook designs feature built-in seating. If that isn’t an option for you, you can place benches around the wall as a space-saving seating option. Include only the basic table with chairs, stools, or benches for your nook area. Adding too much furniture can make the area feel congested rather than relaxing.

Natural Light
Allowing natural light to flow into the space is an ideal way to bring visual and physical warmth into the space. A bay window is an attractive design for a kitchen nook. A picture window or various other window styles that allow lot of light into the room are also good design options. If you have an attractive view, use that to your advantage and arrange the seating so you can enjoy the view while having breakfast. Shutters that cover the bottom half of the window are a good choice if the view outside the window is not as attractive. Uniquely designed windows from customer designers like
Fas Windows and Doors can give the area character.

Color
Although a breakfast nook is a small space, you can still make bold color choices within. You may want to paint the walls a brilliant color, or use a vibrant, exiting wallpaper in your nook. Accent pillows, rugs, window treatments, the centerpiece on the table or the wall art you select for this space can energize the area. In addition to color, you may want to incorporate a variety of textures and patterns into the decor to make it more exciting. Be eclectic in your design and make it cozy and familiar.
