Budget Ideas for Decorating a Living Room

Here are some budget ideas for decorating a Living Room

Living room is the central part of any house. This is the place where your entire family and your friends gather around for holidays, meals and just relaxing, fantastic time together. The way your living-room is decorated usually sets the tone of the entire home. Yet, sometimes (and unfortunately more often than not) we don’t have enough money to decorate our space after our own taste. But, believe me – it’s not the end of the world. The fact your budget doesn’t allow you extravaganza doesn’t mean you can’t go DIY on your place and make it a wonderful place to be at, regardless of how much money you spent on decorating it. If you are not sure what those DIY things are – follow through this guide, and you’ll see what I mean!

Furniture

Furniture IS important for any room as it sets the tone of the space. Are you into rustic or modern? Casual or architectural? Basically, you can choose from anything you like and update it with your personal touch. Still, in order to have proper furniture you don’t need to bust your budget and buy the entire new furniture set. A few DIY projects and you are good to go!

Your sofa will look different and new with a cover and cushions of intensive colors and interesting patterns. Huge cushions will give the sofa a dramatic feel and this will spark up the room! If you’ve got wooden chair, repairing them is easy – sandpaper and fillers, a fresh coat of a paint you like and you’ve got yourself a new set of chairs!

Craftwork and Collections

Accessorizing the space is a final touch to any room. It gives it that personal, inviting feel and you can do anything you like and feel is just thing to do. Put up photos that you find inspirational, quotes or family photos that have always meant a lot. Choose frames in various sizes and colors and choose a wall you’ll decorate with photos. Another great idea is to take bottles you’ve got stored in your pantry and use them as flower vases or interesting pieces of your space. Even, going to a bottle shop and getting a few is a pretty cheap investment and yet you get a cool and unusual piece of décor. Even re-arranging your current accessorize can make big a difference. It gives the room that feel of freshness and novelty.

Walls

Even when you are not directly looking at them, they are in your peripheral vision and are subconsciously influencing your impression of the room you are sitting in. People usually make a mistake of going for plain white walls, believing they will fit with whichever furniture they pick or with any way they arrange the room. Sure, that’s good reason yet a pretty boring option to go with. White walls are pretty uninteresting and lack character. So, what you should do is decorate the walls to set the tone of the room. If you are not big on experimenting then choose just one wall for decoration. You can play with color, wallpaper and/or wall stickers. If you are going with just one wall, make it as interesting as possible. In time or even right away, it will become a conversation starter, no doubt. If you are decorating all walls – don’t overdo it. Too much of anything simply isn’t good.

Also, the fact you’ve decided to experiment doesn’t mean you should do something that absolutely inconsistent with the rest of the house/room décor. Look for everything to fit and match whether it’s a unique color or some interesting plastering ideas. Remember, the important thing to do is decorate your space after your own taste and make it your favorite place to be at.
